As a reference to the national seal, the phrase “Annuit Cœptis” alludes to the value of the American endeavor, sometimes appropriated as the
“American dream”. A concept that can be interpreted many ways and used as a straw man tactic to mask negative behaviors and practices, both
politically and socially.
